Registering Users with a Magic Link
Magic Links make onboarding faster and easier by giving users a quick and convenient way to get to the HYPR Device Manager to register their smartphone, security key, or other authenticator. Administrators generate Magic Links for a specific users in the HYPR Control Center, then send the link to the user, typically via email. The user can then click on the link or paste it into a browser to enroll their device.
Making Magic

-
Use the drop-down menu in the left navigation panel to select the app for which you want to create the Magic link.

-
Set the Create New Magic Link parameters as follows:

Note: If you’re using HYPR with Entra, Okta, Ping Identity, ForgeRock, or another identity provider provider, make sure the user already exists in that system. For example, use 600 if you want the link to expire after 10 minutes. Domain Prefix The specific domain for which you want to create the Magic Link. The Domain Prefix is configurable in case your public-facing domain is different from your internal domain. For example, if your Control Center instance is behind a firewall or DNS, you can enter the specific URL in this field. infoEmail addresses containing a “+” sign are not supported as usernames for integrations. Ensure you use an email address without special characters for authentication.
-
Once you’ve entered your settings, click the Create Magic Link button to generate the links.
Hovering over the links will allow you to copy the text to the clipboard. You can then send them to the user via email or another communication channel.
Note that once you close the pop-up window, you won’t be able to view the links again. However, you can always regenerate them if necessary.
Two different versions of Magic Link are created: Web Link and Dynamic Link.
Web Link
Web Links are designed to be opened in a computer browser and will take users to the HYPR Device Manager where they can begin the device registration process by scanning a QR Code.
Example:

Dynamic Link
Dynamic Links are intended to be opened on a mobile device where they will initiate the registration process directly in the HYPR Mobile App. Dynamic Links also work as a normal Web Link if opened in a computer browser.
Example:
https://hyprapp.page.link?link=https%3A%2F%2Fhypr.com%2Fdynamiclink%3FrpUrl%3Dhttps%3A%2F%2Fhighlandsbank.com%2Frp%2Fversioned%2Fmagiclink%2Fregister%26token%3D84c23cecf0c5ba04a9a8e86b52e210da2350387053bca55f09949ead6ca62005&apn=com.hypr.one&amv=1&ibi=com.hypr.one&ius=hypr&isi=1343368858&ofl=https%3A%2F%2Fhighlandsbank.com%2Fmagiclink%3Ftoken%3D84c23cecf0c5ba04a9a8e86b52e210da2350387053bca55f09949ead6ca62005
As of version 9.5 HYPR supports native camera QR code scan via dynamic short links; you don't even have to open the HYPR Mobile App first. Contact HYPR Support to get it for your users.
If the HYPR Mobile App is installed on the device, the registration process kicks off automatically with no need to scan an external QR code.

If the HYPR Mobile App isn’t installed on the device, the user is taken to the relevant download location (Google Play Store or Apple App Store) and prompted to install.
Once the HYPR Mobile App is installed, the user will need to open the Dynamic Link again to perform the registration.
